The iPhone 15 comes with decent performance and features, but don’t expect groundbreaking features with this iPhone. Consider this latest iPhone if it’s priced under Rs 80,000.

Design:

The Apple iPhone 15 boasts an aluminum body and an IP68 water resistance rating for sweat and dust resistance. The iPhone 15 weighs 177g, making it a lightweight smartphone. From the front, it features Ceramic Shield protection, and on the back, there’s glass, giving it a unique square form factor.

Display:

The Apple iPhone 15 features a 6.1-inch OLED (Super Retina XDR) display with a resolution of 1179 x 2556 pixels, 460 ppi, 2000 units of peak brightness, and a 60Hz refresh rate. While the display quality is good, it’s worth noting that Apple is offering only a 60Hz refresh rate on the iPhone 15, which may not be justified in this segment. The dynamic Island current, introduced in the iPhone 14, is also present in the iPhone 15. Overall, the iPhone 15’s display is decent, but there are no major upgrades, as it is the base version of the iPhone 15.

Camera:

The iPhone 15 features a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP primary camera with f/1.6 and a 12MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.4, along with 4x digital zoom. With this camera configuration, the phone is capable of providing good-quality portraits and offers options to adjust the depth of field. However, it’s worth mentioning that the number of cameras on the iPhone 15 may not meet the expectations for its price segment, as many smartphones in this range offer three or more rear cameras. Additionally, the iPhone 15’s camera supports only 4K video recording at 60fps, which may not be justified.

The front selfie camera is a 12MP shooter with f/1.9, supporting 4K video at 60fps, which is quite good.

RAM and Storage:

The Apple iPhone 15 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of NVMe storage. It currently does not offer any external storage options. There are also 256GB and 512GB storage versions available with 6GB of RAM, with no upgrade in RAM.

Processor:

The Apple iPhone 15 is powered by the Apple A16 Bionic chipset with a Hexa-core 3.46GHz CPU coupled with a 5-core Apple GPU. While it’s not the latest Apple processor, it is sufficient for all kinds of performance and usage, including gaming.

Connectivity:

The Apple iPhone 15 is a 5G-supported smartphone, offering 24 5G bands for its Indian variant (iPhone 15 Model A3092). It features Wi-Fi 6 (dual band) and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity options, both of which are the latest technology versions. It also supports NFC. For navigation, it includes GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, and QZSS sensors. However, it does not support NavIC for India. The iPhone 15 supports dual SIM cards and comes with an e-SIM option.

Battery and Charging:

Apple does not disclose the exact battery capacity for the iPhone 15, but it claims to provide up to 26 hours of video playback time. It supports fast charging, allowing you to charge the battery to 50% in just 30 minutes with a wired Type-C port and this is the first time iPhone will offer the type-c port. Additionally, it offers wireless charging with a 15W option.

In terms of battery backup and charging, it may not be as competitive as some other Android smartphones, which offer better battery life and charging options.
