With the start of IPL 2023, Jio has announced the launch of its new broadband connection plan, the Jio Backup Plan (JioFiber Backup), priced at ₹198 per month. Under this plan, users will be able to access 10 Mbps speed. Previously, the plan was available for ₹399 with the same configuration.

Additionally, customers can add ₹200 per month to get access to a 4K setup box, 550 live TV channels, and 14 OTT apps. The company has also provided an option to upgrade the internet speed to 30 Mbps or 100 Mbps for 1 to 7 days by paying ₹21 to ₹152.
Jio currently holds 30.06 percent of the Indian broadband market share, with approximately 84 lakh users. Airtel, Jio’s main competitor, will offer its cheapest plan at ₹699 per month with a speed of up to 40 Mbps. However, according to Morgan Stanley, Airtel is planning to launch a lowest-priced plan in the future to compete with Jio Fiber.
The average revenue per user (ARPU) for broadband service ranges from ₹500 to ₹700 per month.
While it is easy to switch to another company for 4G SIM, it may be challenging to do so with broadband services.
Jio’s new plan comes just in time for the start of IPL 2023, and it is expected to attract many users who are looking for affordable and high-speed internet connectivity.
