Now Indian TWS market booming with the top 5 Indian brand market share

Neither Chinese nor global brand jump on top TWS brands, but they is Indian brands like boAt, Noise, Mivi, Ptron, and Boult.

The demand for TWS earbuds has grown in India in place of all other types of headphones; let’s talk about the top manufacturers and models.

Recent reports claim that India’s earphone and headphone market has undergone significant change in recent years. The report claims that Bluetooth-connected TWS earbuds are increasingly chosen over wired headphones.

In 2022, shipments of TWS (True Wireless Stereo Earbuds) in India increased by 85%, and boAt continued to dominate the market. According to this report, boAt has surpassed all other brands in India’s TWS market.

According to Counterpoint Research, the market for headphones saw an 89% increase, and boAts’ shipment increased to 60% of the total shipment in India. The AirDopes 131, one of the boAt’s specific models, continued to be the best-selling model for a second year in a row, with a 10% increase in shipment. Additionally to boAt, local brands, for the first time ever, took the top five positions in India’s TWS market.

According to Senior Research Analyst Anshika Jain, “Four-fifths of the market share, their highest-ever percentage, were taken up by Indian brands. Indian brands took up even the top five positions for the first time, accounting for two-thirds of all TWS shipments from India.”

Despite this, Chinese companies Oneplus and realme held a 13% market share in 2022. Realme and Oppo also contributed to expanding Chinese brands, as did OnePlus’ feature-rich TWS, the Nord Buds and Nord Buds CE. While taking an 8% stake in the Indian market were global giants Samsung and JBL.

Bolt Audio took the third spot with a 7% share and 167.0% growth, impressive growth by these local brands. Indian brand Noise jumped to the second spot with a 2X growth.

Thanks to its entirely made-in-India TWS portfolio, Miwi increased by 544% this year, taking fourth place in the top-five brands ranking for the first time ever. It certainly benefits Indian brands.

“Domestic manufacturing witnesses rapid growth, contributing 30% of total shipments in 2022, compared to only 2% the year before in 2021. Now the fifth position of PTron again takes fifth place with a 5% share of total TWS shipments.
